Analysis of Spinal Cord Inflammation at the Onset of Cognitive Dysfunction in a Mouse Model of Multiple Sclerosis, Shriya Pai, Kanon Yasuhara, Larry Sherman | Paper published, IJHSR
Discusses that in Multiple Sclerosis, cognitive dysfunction often occurs before the onset of significant physical disability and a definitive MS diagnosis. Despite a lack of motor symptoms in early-stage EAE mice, increased numbers of CD3 + neurons in the spinal cord illustrate the role of inflammation in MS wherein hippocampal learning and memory are first affected.
Identification of Novel Target Genes for Alzheimer’s Disease in the Presence of Metabolic Comorbidities, Shriya Pai | Paper Accepted and under final copy edit review, JEI
Provides an overview of comparison of AD and comorbidities; differential gene expressions, to find common genes, like AKT1, CHUK, PPM1A, and STARD3NL that correlated directly to the AD pathway through literature studies and STRING/GO pathway analyses.
